Kisterem 20

Current

This year, Kisterem celebrates the 20th anniversary of its founding. Since opening in 2006, it has grown from a small exhibition space into one of the leading institutions of the Hungarian contemporary art scene. Over the years, it has brought together different generations, artistic practices, and ways of thinking, while consistently representing its artists both in Hungary and internationally. During the past two decades, Kisterem has organized more than 150 solo and group exhibitions in its own spaces and at external venues, and has participated in over 100 art fairs in Hungary and abroad, including in London, Paris, Rotterdam, Basel, and Berlin.

We are celebrating the past 20 years with a two-day event series. The Kisterem 20 group show features works by the gallery’s artists; the exhibition offers insight into the diverse artistic positions and media that have shaped Kisterem’s identity over the last two decades.
