Kisterem 2023’s autumn opening exhibition, which will be on view during this year’s Gallery Weekend Budapest, will showcase Gergő Szinyova’s latest paintings. The young painter explored the problems of abstract painting for nearly a decade, and as a result of a longer transition, by 2020 he had reached a fully figurative painting – his last solo exhibition at Kisterem in 2021 already featured these decidedly narrative paintings. This autumn’s exhibition will feature the latest works in the ongoing figurative program, with elements familiar from earlier paintings and the signature technique Szinyova uses that recalls different printing processes, using which the artist refers to questions surrounding the infinite reproduction of images.
