RANDOMROUTINES

Tamás Kaszás and Krisztián Kristóf since 2003

Active since 2003, Randomroutines artists’ collective (Tamás Kaszás and Krisztián Kristóf) experiments with different narrative forms that achieve their final shape filtered through various media – mostly installation, video, and animation.

The pseudonym randomroutine stands for experimentation with methods they are interested in but are not necessarily familiar with. It means learning-by-doing, collaboration in unusual situations, with tools that they find laying around. Works done this way have a certain quality that separates them from other methods, strongly rooted in a punk ethic.

The duo has exhibited in group exhibitions at Kunsthalle Budapest, Cachi Studio (San Francisco), Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (Berlin), MeetFactory (Prague), KGVU Zlín, Bothnia Biennial (Nykarleby), OFF-Biennale Budapest and Tenderpixel (London) and has held solo exhibitions in Ellen de Bruijne Projects (Amsterdam) and at Kisterem (Budapest). Randomroutines also has permanent public art projects installed in Třinec, Czech Republic and Budapest, Hungary.
